Irancy, 2018, Domaine Pierre Hérouart, Coulanges-la-Vineuse

£12.50

Description

Irancy is to red burgundy what Chablis is to white — a commune making very good value wine many miles to the north of the much more expensive Côte d’Or. The growers of Coulanges-la-Vineuse are especially good value. Pierre Hérouart is the son-in-law of Michel Martin. While Martin’s Coulanges is a summery easy drinking red, this, also quite light, has developed gorgeously rich burgundian secondary aromas. It is going on the website on 20 January and it would obviously be great with Haggis to celebrate Burns night and the Auld Alliance.
