Description
This is burgundy grower Céline Côté’s one-step-up from her basic Pinot Noir. Her local restaurant/wine shop is just over four miles away in the small town of Tonnerre, and they have very complete tasting note: ‘Colour: ruby with bright crimson notes; on the nose opens with smoke and leather with a touch of forest floor, then opens out with empyreumatic aromas (means: fire-related, charred wood, struck flint), which are characteristic of Tonnerre wines, shot through with juicy red fruit flavours. Powerful in the mouth, attractively fresh tasting, and an unusual complexity derived from subtle and diverse aromas of flowers and red fruit, and delicate well-rounded tannins.
